Product Description

We use a variety of 'Pressure Treated' timber in the production of our polytunnels for doors, base rails, staging etc.  If you are looking to replace or repair components in a First Tunnels Polytunnel, please refer to the instruction guide to help identify the timber piece needed. These items can be purchased for use as staging tops, additional support, etc. Below is a brief description of where we typically utilise the timber. 

19mm x 38mm (¾in x 1½in)
Typical Use: Used as a fixing batten when securing polythene on doors/frames and base/side rails.

22mm x 150mm (¾in x 6in
Typical Use: Supplied with our Raised Bed Brackets.

25mm x 50mm (1in x 2in)
Typical Use: Used when manuacturing our Trestle Staging or staging tops.

47mm x 47mm (2in x 2in) - EasiEdge
Typical Use: Used primarily in our domestic inner doors for our domestic polytunnels.

75mm x 47mm (3in x 2in) - EasiEdge
Typical Use: Extensively used on our range of polytunnels both domestic and commercial as base/side rails, door frames for our domestic polytunnels and doors for our commercial inner doors.

100mm x 50mm (4in x 2in) - EasiEdge
Typical Use: Our commercial polytunnel utilises this timber for the door frames.

Delivery

Delivery Lead Times

We are currently estimating that all Fruit Cages, Super Strength, and Garden Polytunnel orders will be despatched in 1-3 working days.

Polytunnel Accessories (including polytunnel covers) will be despatched in 1 -3 working days. 

Commercial polytunnels will be despatched in approximately 3- 5 working days. Please ask when ordering. 

Please note: Commercial Polytunnels require a forklift or adequate help to offload by hand. Please contact us should you wish to discuss this.

Greenhouses

With effect for all new greenhouse orders placed from the 6th of February 2023, the following lead times can be quoted on your website, display sites, and sales literature. 

  • Mill finish with Horti and toughened glass - 4-5 Weeks
  • Powder Coated Standards (Compact, Maxim, Streamline, Delta, Craftsman, High Eave, Strata, Vantage, Belmont) 8-10 Weeks for ALL colours
  • Powder Coated Specials (all other models - Titan, Lean To, Dwarf Walls, Edge, Zenith, Supreme, and Classique) 10-14 Weeks for ALL colours
