📦 Pallet Delivery Facts
-
All 16ft–30ft commercial tunnels arrive on a pallet — this is standard for heavy‑duty frames because the steel hoops, crop bars and timber rails are too large and too heavy for parcel carriers.
-
Pallet delivery protects components — long steel hoops bend easily if mishandled. Palletising keeps everything strapped, stable and protected during haulage.
🏗 Offloading Requirements
-
Forklift strongly recommended — commercial tunnels often weigh several hundred kilos once packaged. A forklift makes offloading safe and avoids damage to the frame or cover.
-
Hand offloading is possible — but only with adequate manpower. Realistically, this means 3–5 people depending on tunnel size.
-
Haulage drivers rarely assist — most haulage companies operate “kerbside only” delivery, so customers must plan offloading in advance.

Greenhouse Deliveries
As we are agents for Elite Greenhouses, they deliver on their own transport, mainly because we cannot send these via a carrier; Elite do not deliver any further North than Inverness and some rural postcodes. If this is the case, then please contact us before buying online.
⏱️ Lead‑Time Insights
-
Mill finish + Horti/toughened glass (4–5 weeks) This is one of Elite’s fastest production categories — anything powder‑coated adds significant time because every frame goes through a multi‑stage curing process.
-
Powder‑coated Standards (8–10 weeks) These are Elite’s “core” models (Compact, Maxim, Streamline, Delta, Craftsman, High Eave, Strata, Vantage, Belmont). The 8–10 week window is consistent with industry averages for coloured aluminium frames.
-
Powder‑coated Specials (10–14 weeks) Titan, Lean‑To, Dwarf Wall, Edge, Zenith, Supreme and Classique all fall into Elite’s “complex build” category. These models have more intricate profiles and require longer fabrication and coating cycles.
-
Uniform colour lead‑times Elite used to have faster turnaround for popular colours (e.g., green, black). Now all colours share the same lead‑time — a sign they’ve standardised their powder‑coating workflow.
