🌿 Polytex Pro – Polytunnel & PVC Cleaning Solution

Green residue on your polytunnel cover can significantly reduce light transmission, limiting plant growth and reducing overall efficiency. This build‑up often comes from nearby trees and general environmental exposure. Importantly, soapy water should never be used, as it reacts negatively with the oil‑based polymers in polytunnel plastic.

Polytex Pro is the only cleaner we recommend. It has been specifically developed for the safe and effective cleaning of polythene, plastics, and uPVC — making it ideal for polytunnels, conservatories, and window frames.

What Polytex Pro Removes

  • Green algae and slime

  • Pesticide residue

  • Soot and traffic film

  • Grease and chemical deposits

Gentle on surfaces yet highly effective, it restores clarity and improves light levels inside your tunnel.

🧴 Application Rates

  • Dilution: Mix 1:10 with water

  • Suitable for manual cleaning, machine application, or power hose use

  • For best results, apply and then rub with a soft broom or cloth shortly afterwards

📏 Coverage

  • 1 litre covers approx. 110m² (e.g., a 14ft × 45ft polytunnel)

  • 5 litres covers approx. 550m² (e.g., two 21ft × 80ft polytunnels)

Delivery

Delivery Lead Times

We are currently estimating that all Fruit Cages, Super Strength, and Garden Polytunnel orders will be despatched in 1-3 working days.

Polytunnel Accessories (including polytunnel covers) will be despatched in 1 -3 working days. 

Commercial polytunnels will be despatched in approximately 3- 5 working days. Please ask when ordering. 

Please note: Commercial Polytunnels require a forklift or adequate help to offload by hand. Please contact us should you wish to discuss this.

Greenhouses

With effect for all new greenhouse orders placed from the 6th of February 2023, the following lead times can be quoted on your website, display sites, and sales literature. 

  • Mill finish with Horti and toughened glass - 4-5 Weeks
  • Powder Coated Standards (Compact, Maxim, Streamline, Delta, Craftsman, High Eave, Strata, Vantage, Belmont) 8-10 Weeks for ALL colours
  • Powder Coated Specials (all other models - Titan, Lean To, Dwarf Walls, Edge, Zenith, Supreme, and Classique) 10-14 Weeks for ALL colours
